Dear members of the FIGO Board of Trustees, Council, Congress Organising, Scientific Programme and Local Organising Committees for FIGO Cape Town 2025, and FIGO staff,

On behalf of the FIGO Events Team (Nikol, Sarah, Amna and myself) I am delighted to announce that the call for late-breaking abstract submissions and bursary applications for the XXV FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa from Sunday 5 - Thursday 9 October 2025, with pre-Congress workshops on Saturday 4 October 2025, is now open!

We invite you to both submit proposals yourselves, but to also share this information amongst your networks to help us promote FIGO's 25th flagship event in 2025.

Missed the call for submissions? You can still present at Congress
If you thought you missed your opportunity to have your say in our scientific programme, think again! We are accepting late-breaking abstract submissions until Wednesday 16 April, giving you a platform to share cutting edge research with over 8,000+ attendees from 130+ countries.

Why submit a late-breaking abstract?
  • Share your research on a global stage: gain visibility among leading experts, professionals, and advocates in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology.
  • Get published: have your paper published in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics (IJGO), the best scoring abstracts will be invited to submit further research for other IJGO publications.
  • Shape the future of women’s health: contribute to important discussions and play a role in driving innovation and advancing the science within our practice. Help us build a better future for women, girls and newborns worldwide.

Making Congress more accessible
We are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent deserving researchers from attending the Congress. Our new bursary programme provides funding for those who may otherwise be unable to participate. To be eligible for a bursary applicants must have an abstract accepted to the scientific programme, you can also apply with a pending late-breaking abstract application. Priority will be given to low or lower-middle-income countries, as well as nurses, midwives, students, and trainees.
Your research matters—Join us at FIGO Cape Town 2025
