Take action now to end deaths from PPH

Dear collegues

Today, on World PPH Day, FIGO has launched a new call to action urging member societies to help accelerate national efforts to end preventable deaths from postpartum haemorrhage.

Marking one year since the release of the WHO-FIGO-ICM consolidated guidelines, the call highlights the vital role of national OBGYN societies in turning global recommendations into country-level political commitments and everyday clinical practice. It focuses on four priority areas of action:

  • advocating for national guidance aligned with the WHO-FIGO-ICM recommendations

  • implementing best practice through protocols, job aids and procurement systems

  • empowering health workers through training and mentoring

  • collaborating across sectors to build momentum for sustainable change.
